About…
Coby Sullivan has always been a storyteller.
As a child, she made her own newspapers; stapling together bits of paper and writing imaginary stories about people and events. She went on to study International Journalism and built a successful career in marketing and tech, connecting people and building strong communities.
In 2021, Coby’s world was shattered by postpartum depression. She endured six months of severe sleep deprivation and tried her best to stave off feelings of sadness and overwhelm, but following an intervention from a medical professional, she accepted the fact she was not coping and sought help.
Coby began writing some of the truths about her experience and soon her journal was filled with questions, poetry and short stories about motherhood. Her husband encouraged her to lean into this new-found spark of creativity and see where it took her. His belief in her, at a time when she didn’t believe in herself, changed everything and she decided to write a book.
That book is Milk Fever - a deeply personal yet universally resonant exploration of postpartum depression. It’s a story based on true events, that sheds light on how it can infiltrate even the most of confident and optimistic of minds, fracturing identity, relationships and even self-worth.
What started as catharsis has turned into a mission: to say the unsaid and validate the experiences of countless women around the world. Through her writing, Coby blends the curiosity of a journalist with the emotional depth of a mother who has survived postpartum depression.
Milk Fever is more than a book - it’s a necessary conversation.
