About…
Coby Sullivan has always been a storyteller.
As a child, she made her own newspapers filled with imaginary stories about interesting people and exciting events. So it’s no surprise she went on to study International Journalism and built a successful connecting people and building strong communities.
Known for her unshakable optimism and “glass half full” outlook, she had always believed she could get through anything. But more than six months of severe sleep deprivation left her overwhelmed and in a state of despair. It wasn’t until a medical professional intervened that she was able to accept that she was not coping and needed help.
Coby began writing about her experience and soon her journal was filled with poetry and short stories about motherhood and its challenges. Her husband encouraged her to lean into this creativity during her time of struggle and his belief in her, at a time when she didn’t believe in herself, changed everything. She decided to write a book.
That book is Paper Skin - a deeply personal yet universally resonant exploration of postpartum depression. It sheds light on how PPD can infiltrate even the most of confident of minds, fracturing identity, relationships and even self-worth.
What started as catharsis has turned into a mission: to say the unsaid and validate the experiences of countless women around the world. Through her writing, Coby blends the curiosity of a journalist with the emotional depth of a mother who has survived postpartum depression.
Paper Skin is more than a book - it’s a necessary conversation.
